We have an exciting 2018 ahead of us with a LOT of Class 40 racing. Our main crewed race of the season, which you can take part in, will be the Volvo Round Ireland Race which we will be competing in as a Class 40, rather than on IRC handicap. This race is part of the Class 40 European Cup and we have decided to do all of the Euro Class 40 races this year. This means we will be heading over to do the Grand Prix Guyader in france which is a week long regatta for offshore racing boats such as IMOCA 60s, Trimarans and Class 40s.
Following on from this is the Armen Race which is an alongshore race in the Bay of Biscay. To complete the EuroCup series we are looking to also compete in the Normandy Channel Race and the Round Britain and Ireland Race, this is our most ambitious year to date! If you would like to be part of the crew please get in touch ASAP to register your interest as spaces are very limited. In the run up to the Round Britain and Ireland Race, we will be taking part in the RORC St Malo and Channel Races which are available to book individual places if we have space.
Alongside the racing we will be offering many other events that you can join us on. Our 5 day cruise will be starting from Gosport and travelling to Douaranez in France, exploring the coast of Brittany on the way. We will also be attempting our London Cruise again in September, hopefully without any gales to ruin things!
For those with less free time, we will also be doing a couple of Two Day Cruises with an overnight stay onboard Fortissimo. We are also running a number of experience days throughout the year.
Below is our full Itinerary for the year, in between these dates Fortissimo is available for skippered charter for day sails or longer. We can cater for groups of up to six people, or you may want to experience shorthanded offshore sailing. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss your Class 40 ambitions! They are amazing boats and it is our goal to provide access to this type of sailing.
