Two day sailing trips on a Class 40

£250 – £275  Book_Button_Small  Dates_Button_Small

If you have enjoyed our day sails and are looking for something more, but a 5 day cruise is too much, then our two day sailing trips might be just what you’re looking for.

Our 2 day sailing adventures have a flexible itinerary depending on the weather but we offer shorter trips that stay in the shelter of Solent, berthing at Cowes or Hamble for the night, or longer trips to Poole or Weymouth.

Sailing out past the Needles and along the Jurassic coast is one of the great sailing experiences, it is a stunning part of the world. Doing it on a yacht like Fortissimo means that we can greet you at 0900 on the day of departure, like a normal day sail, yet still cover the distance required to get to Weymouth or Poole by 1800. Sailing a Class 40 racing yacht in open water is a fantastic experience. We will eat ashore in one of the great pubs or restaurants to feed up the crew, before turning in for the night.

Sleeping onboard Fortissimo, is not quite as luxurious as a high end luxury cruising yacht, but it is certainly better than camping! And just as much fun, perfectly adequate, remember to bring a sleeping bag!

The next day will start with a continental style breakfast onboard at 0800, or if there is demand a trip to the local cafes. We should be underway shortly after 0900 to make our way back to Gosport. An earlier start may be required from Weymouth depending on the wind and tides.

Our Two Day Sails happen at various times throughout the season, please click here to see a list of available dates. The ones marked SOLENT will stay in the shelter of the Solent, the others will intend to sail to Poole or Weymouth.

Our Two Day Sails are intended to be just that, two day sails of around six to eight hours there, and six to eight hours back. Obviously we are at the mercy of the wind, so destinations may have to be flexible, and a little flexibility with the time. There will be no night sailing.

Join fellow crew members at 0900 on the day of departure. After an introduction and full safety brief with our RYA skipper, you will head out to the Solent at around 1015. You can be as involved as you like, everyone will have a chance to helm and trim the sails, you can take an active role in the Navigation with an RYA instructor onboard, ask lots of questions, or if you would prefer, just take in the sights, and relax.

Our destination will depend on the wind, the intention is to have arrived by 1800, to give us some time to put the boat to bed and head out for a meal at around 1900. Please allow some budget for eating out, we usually go to some good local pubs who dish up hearty large portions at a reasonable price. Of course you are free to do your own thing, and there are plenty of nice restaurants or Fish and Chip shops on offer!

We will sleep onboard the boat, so remember to bring a sleeping bag. A continental style breakfast will be served onboard at 0800, with the intention to be ready to sail at 0900. This may have to be earlier depending on the wind and weather.

Sailing outside the Solent will expose you to larger seas and the trip will take longer, so we would recommend that people who haven’t sailed before should try a day sail in the solent first. But if you have some sailing experience and are looking for more, this will be the perfect trip for you, we offer a SOLENT option for those that may not be quite ready to leave the confines of the Solent just yet and are hankering for a night in Cowes, the home of British sailing.

As with all our sailing, the final itinerary is dependent upon the weather.

The Two Day Sailing trips are £275 per person and includes lunch on both days, breakfast onboard on day two and mooring fees. Our evening meal will be taken ashore, which is not included.
