The Round Ireland Race is one of the classic offshore races. The 704 mile course stretches yachts and crews to their limits. In 2016 we will be competing on board our Class 40 offshore racing yacht. Like the Fastnet we’re looking to build and develop a crew who can handle the challenge of sailing right round the Emerald Isle. You can expect all the thrills and spills you’ll have read in the Fastnet campaign writeup and plenty more.

From the start line at Wicklow up to 100 yachts will set off leaving Ireland and all its Islands (except Rockall) to Starboard. The race takes in the Atlantic offshore conditions of the west coast, followed by the tactical coastal sailing around the beautiful Northern coast. Our racing package will include two training weekends and two RORC offshore races, so you will be well trained and fully prepared for the race when it takes place.

So is this a challenge you’d like to take on?

If it is then this is your opportunity to sail on board a hi-tech racing yacht, that is designed specifically for offshore racing. Strong, safe and fast, these boats are capable of speeds of up to 20 knots, in offshore conditions, yet are designed to be managed single handed or fully crewed. Unlike other racing opportunities this one will put you right in the middle of the action, involved in all aspects of sailing the yacht yet under the watchful eye of our experienced skipper. As part of our race crew you’ll master new sailing skills, develop your team working ability and overcome challenges that you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

The only downside to all of this is that we only have a limited number of places on-board for this experience. So if you want to be one of the five committed, passionate and enthusiastic sailors who will get to experience this life changing opportunity then Phone or Email us for further details and to secure your place on the team…
