Volvo Round Ireland Race 2018 onboard Class 40 racing yacht “Fortissimo”

£3,995  Book_Button_Small

The Volvo Round Ireland Race is one of the classic offshore races. The 704 mile course stretches yachts and crews to their limits. After a successful race campaign in 2016, we’re looking forward to returning to Wicklow for another race. In 2018 we will be competing on board our Class 40 offshore racing yacht, Fortissimo.

This is your opportunity to sail on board a hi-tech racing yacht, that is designed specifically for offshore racing. Strong, safe and fast, these boats are capable of speeds of up to 20 knots, in offshore conditions, yet are designed to be managed single handed or fully crewed.

From the start line at Wicklow up to 100 yachts will set off leaving Ireland and all its Islands (except Rockall) to Starboard. Our racing package will include two training days in the Solent, a qualifying non-stop delivery trip of over 300NM from Gosport to Greystones Marina, near Wicklow, the Volvo Round Ireland Race and the delivery back to Gosport (optional).

We have a limited number of places left for passionate and enthusiastic sailors who are looking for a life changing experience! Phone or Email us for further details and to book your place on the team…

  • What our Clients say

Being given the opportunity to do everything including navigation, helming and various other tasks was great. But there was also the opportunity to say no, if something was too far outside a comfort zone. Above all I learned so much about making a boat go faster, cross channel navigation, and a whole host of other things.

  • What our Clients say
What an amazing experience the whole campaign has been, culminating in the totally incredible Fastnet Race itself. I want to say a huge thank you to all at Dream Or Two for everything you have done for me and all of us.

  • What our Clients say

I did the 2016 Round Ireland Race on Fortissimo plus the delivery there and back.  The weather wasn’t the kindest but we still managed a rip roaring 20kt + ride down the West coast.  With a Class 40 having a smaller number of crew than the usual stock forty footer you get a chance to do everything on board that you are capable of plus a bit more.

If you’ve ever suffered from being ‘rail meat’ this is your chance to break out and contribute to all aspects of sailing and racing a planing race boat capable of  downwind speeds on a par with grand prix teams.

James and his team will help and train you to achieve what it says on the box – dreams.  Don’t hesitate, just do it.

    John, Round Ireland Crew 2016
